COMPARISON

Wix vs WordPress: an honest comparison for a small business

Short answer: choose Wix if you never want to touch the technical side, and WordPress if you want full control and room to grow. Wix bundles hosting, SSL and updates into one subscription; the WordPress software is free, but the domain, hosting, theme and maintenance are separate bills. Neither one writes your words or finds your images.

Most people asking this question have not used either, and most of the comparisons they find are written by sites earning a commission on whichever answer they push. The table below names what each side is bad at. We put our own product in the same table on the same criteria, so the comparison is not a one-way street.

Choose Wix if…

You want one bill, one login and everything working without you thinking about servers. There is a learning curve in the editor, but you climb it once and it stays climbed.

Choose WordPress if…

You are building something you will keep growing for years — memberships, a real store, several languages — or you will be working with a developer. In exchange, updates, backups and security become your responsibility.

Choose İyziWeb if…

Your problem was never picking a template; it is filling one in. If you have stalled in front of an empty page wondering what to write about your own business, that is the exact moment this tool exists for.

One more thing

Let us name where we lose: if you need a real store with inventory and payments, a membership system or a custom integration, İyziWeb is the wrong tool and WordPress — or a developer — is the right one. We are built for the small business that needs a site explaining what it does, not for software projects.

Frequently asked

Is WordPress really free?

The software is free; the website is not. The license on what you download from WordPress.org costs nothing, but running it needs a domain, hosting and usually a paid theme or a couple of paid plugins. The free part is the smallest line on the invoice.

Can I move from Wix to WordPress later?

You can, but it is not a button. Content moves by hand or with import tools and the design gets rebuilt from scratch. That is why "I will migrate later" is an expensive plan — it is cheaper to be honest on day one about what you actually need.

Which is better for SEO?

Both are technically capable, and the difference comes from your content rather than the tool. WordPress gives you more knobs through plugins; Wix handles the basics for you. What decides your ranking is still whether the page genuinely answers the question someone typed.

So which of the two is İyziWeb closer to?

Closer to Wix in how it feels to use: hosting, SSL and updates are on us. Where it splits off is that you never pick a template. You describe your business in a sentence, and the page structure, the text and the images are built around that description.
